Malaysia: 9 ecoregions. Each with its climate now and toward 2050, and its conservation tier.

Nine ecoregions cover Malaysia, and eight belong to tropical moist broadleaf forest or its wet-ground relatives. Peninsular Malaysia carries its own rain forests, montane rain forests, and peat swamp forests, plus the Tenasserim-South Thailand semi-evergreen rain forests in the north; Malaysian Borneo holds the Borneo lowland rain forests, montane rain forests, and peat swamp forests, with the tiny Kinabalu montane alpine meadows above the treeline and Sunda Shelf mangroves along the coasts. The result is an ever-wet equatorial climate with essentially no dry season at low elevation. For growers that means year-round warmth and humidity: rain forest trees, understory aroids, gingers, and epiphytes thrive, drainage matters more than irrigation, and only the montane zones offer relief for plants that need cooler nights.
